History of Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton was born in the year of 1821 August fourth in French , In the year of 1835, He moved to Paris and worked for Marechal company which was famous for making Trunk and case. During work, he created rectangular bag which was so successful. During that time, the bags were round and was uncomfortable to put clothes. For the people who liked to go to trip, they needed to carry many bags, but after he created the rectangular bag which is Louis Vuitton, It made popularity.

With this kind of background, In the year of 1854, he opened his shop in downtown of Paris. With very good design and useful trunk, he got gold medals and silver medals in  the paris world exhibition. In the year of 1892 February 27th, Louis Vuitton died and his son Georges Vuitton got the company.



With Louis Vuitton selling such a high an goods at such a high price.

In the year of 1896, his son Georges Vuitton created Monogram Canvas. This trademark was from his Father's first  name letter "L" and the last letter "V". Combination of LV design  represents the Louis Vuitton company. And this was the very first trademark in the world.



Louis Vuitton company is famous until today. The company's history is about 150 years. It expanded to all of the world. The company is not only famous for bags but also famous for accessory and total fashion.

In the year of 1994 Louis Vuitton created their literature collection called Voyager Avec.
In the year of 1997 they created a pen collection and in 1998 the LV city Guides and scrap books. In the year of 2001 the jewellery line was launched. In the year of 2006 the book Louis Vuitton icons was published. In the 2004, Louis Vuitton celebrated their 150the anniversary.


Louis Vuitton first entered the fashion world with their luggage line. In that time, lots of people were beginning to travel. So he created a large flat case and a steamer bag and large overnight bag called a Keepall.


Louis Vuitton is also a made a handbag designer. In the year of 1896 the now famous monogram canvas was created. A print was so popular that it was redesigned in 2003 in multicolour by Takashi Murakami in 1999 of the print called the Mini Lin Monogram. In 1998 Marc Jacobs joined Louis Vuitton as their Artistic Directr and created Monogram line.



Some LV Trends
- The "Noe" is a drawstring bag with a square base first created in 1932. It's able to carry four champagne bottles. As 35years later Louis Vuitton merged with Moet Hennessy.
- The "Speedy" is similar to the Keepall, but it's a handbag. It has one large compartment inside and grab bag handles. It has in four sizes.
- The "Elipse" is an oyster shell-shaped solid bag with grab handles. It has in two sizes and also as a purse.
- The "Neverfull" is one of the newest additions; a large beach bag syle for city living. It has three sizes.
- The "Papillon" is a barrel bag with shoulder straps, available in two sizes. The larger one comes with a mini replica to be used as a makeup bag.
- The "Cherry Blossom" print was one of Takashi Murakami's limited edition prints. The most popular version showed cute little cherry blossom flowers with faces on top of the classic brown monogram print.
- The "Theda", another limited edition, was a garb bag available in several colours and prints with drawstring sides and a large buckle.
- TheThat's love collection has canvas rectangular tote bags with the word LOVE written on the front. The L and V entwine to make the Louis Vuitton monogarm.
